How quickly can I disengage the Quick Gyro?

You can disengage the Quick Gyro with the press of a button when the emergency standby mode is switched on or off, and the gyro responds instantaneously.

All Quick Gyro models (except for the X2 and X3 mini gyros) offer emergency stand-by. This means that even with the mass spinning at full speed, you can effectively neutralise the stabilization effect of the Gyro at the press of a button on the remote or on your electronics.

Why is this important?

This safety feature allows you to go up alongside a vessel that does not have a gyro, without the risk of the two boats clashing against each other, when impacted by wash or waves.

It also means you can control the handling of your boat.
In some sea conditions you might decide it is safer for your boat to roll, for example, reversing hard while fishing in a big sea where the cockpit might fill with water. With the press of a button, the emergency standby mode can be switched on or off and the gyro instantaneously responds!

You don’t need to wait for the gyro to stop spinning to regain control of the handling of your boat.
